We continue to host the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team in the Pavilion. It allows them more time to do their crime prevention job without needing to return too often to Hounslow Police Station. We spoke to them about use of our outdoor facilities during periods of restriction and they have been happy to see people making appropriate use of the park and facilities, with parents looking after their children. We hope that previous restrictions will not return and expect that everyone will continue to act responsibly. Classes have returned to the Pavilion with appropriate safety rules applied. There are notices at each park entrance reminding people of the general rules that apply at all times.
Shhh! A little elf told us that Father Christmas hims-elf might be visiting The Woodlands Estate just before Christmas! Sunday 19th December is the date and shortly after sundown. Please do bring the little ones along to say hello to Santa – he’ll have a small gift for them too, if they’ve been good, mind! Just £2 per child. Please book using the PayPal form. Access is via the WERFA Park (across the grass). All children must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult.
We had some great entries for the photography competition from adults and children alike. The standard of photography was really high with technically excellent and imaginatively created images by children and adults of all ages. By far the most popular category was Nature which perhaps reflects the changed lives we’ve all had in the last 15 months, with more time to look around us and really notice our surroundings. Our small panel of judges looked not only for technical ability but for the personal stories within the images reflecting the themes of nature, family and community.
