If you don’t like the idea of putting your garden ‘to bed’ for the winter, then don’t! Leave leaves under hedges and wait until spring to cut back your perennials. Beneficial insects, amphibians, birds and small mammals will be very glad of the food and shelter you will be providing during the cold months.
