Bolder Academy is a new, multi-faith, mixed gender secondary school in the London Borough of Hounslow opening in September 2018. Who initiated Bolder Academy?
Bolder Academy has been set up by Hounslow Headteachers in response to the local demand for additional school places in the area.
Hounslow schools work in partnership together and many are outstanding or good. They are committed to working together to ensure that we keep up the standard and create an outstanding Bolder Academy.
Who is Bolder Academy open to?
Bolder Academy will welcome young people from a range of different backgrounds.
As a non-denominational school, it is fully inclusive and open to all and the student body will be made up of mixed gender, multi-faith and multicultural pupils. We hope to attract a range of students and create a supportive, progressive and vibrant community which sees the potential in everyone.
What will Bolder Academy offer?
Bolder Academy will offer opportunities for young people by nurturing their talents, expanding their horizons and giving them ample support to grow as individuals.
The knowledge, experience and expertise of our partners will help to develop an innovative academic curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils. This will take them through our Sixth Form and on into the challenging world of the future. In all things, we will take the boldest approach, with the highest expectations of success.
Where will Bolder Academy be situated?
Bolder Academy will be a newly built, state of the art school, set in the heart of the borough and ready to serve Hounslow young people.
Located within easy distance of Brentford and Isleworth, we are working towards an area close to Gillette Corner. This area is surrounded by national and international businesses, where we are already building strong relationships with key partners. This will help to push forward student development, with a bold approach to intertwining business and education.
What is the status of the project?
The success of any venture like this, hinges on the support and engagement of the community and our community is keen to see the creation of Bolder Academy.
We are working closely with the Education Funding Agency and Hounslow Council and have excellent support from local families, local schools and business partners. Our Chair of Governors is very experienced and a small group of elite Headteachers are leading the set-up phase. In early 2017 we will be appointing the Principal Designate for Bolder Academy.
When will Bolder Academy open?
In September 2018 our Year 7s will join us, where we know a bolder future awaits them.
